Returning to Channel 5 on Thursday 29 October at 9.05pm and to Acorn TV on 9 November, the fifth series was filmed across the islands between March and May. It traces the show’s changing locations across Gozo, from Sannat, which featured as the village square in the first series, to Għarb, which became a key setting from series two onwards. Locations are organised village by village, with details of the episodes in which they appear, maps, a suggested one-day walking route and practical information on getting around, parking and accommodation.
The guide is designed to help visitors do more than simply track down a familiar doorway or square. With advice for planning a wider stay, it also offers a useful starting point for exploring Gozo beyond the filming locations.
“People watch Madame Blanc for the sunshine and scenery as much as the murders, and that sunshine and scenery is ours,” says Gaffney. “This guide gives them a reason to come and find it, and to stay a week rather than a day.”
