First things first. Triq is-Santwarju is truly a fascinating place, it’s a pathway steeped in history and dotted with tales of resilience and heritage. During the Maltese uprising against the French in 1798, Żabbar served as a pivotal base for the insurgents, and the street bore witness to a memorable battle in front of the Sanctuary. Even in more recent history, the street holds remnants of significant events, like the 1975 incident involving the Vulcan B.2 XM645 aircraft, whose wing landed on Triq is-Santwarju. Today, remnants of that very aircraft can be found in the Żabbar Sanctuary Museum.
