Storeroom launches intimate SR Remote

Storeroom has launched a new project, SR Remote, with the primary aim being, to collaborate with local artists. SR Remote is providing artists with a platform to connect with an audience through pre-recorded live performances, which will be posted on social media.

Since COVID-19 hit, the live music industry has suffered drastically and many musicians have ended up without work. By means of these performances, a direct donation link will be set up to the artist, whereby the audience would be able to donate directly to the artist should they wish to, and help them out during these trying times.

SR Remote is also being regarded as an opportunity to utilise the bar space, given that all bars have been shuttered since November. Since Storeroom is a live music bar, the set up works perfectly with the intimate concert setting, which is portrayed in the music videos.

Artist Sam Christie

The inspiration for SR Remote came to be at the start of 2021, when bars received the news that they were to remain closed for the foreseeable future, according to the Public Health Authorities.

The first session was launched on the 3 March 2021, in collaboration with Maltese singer/ song-writer Sam Christie, who performed a stripped down version of two of his songs, one of which is off his new album, which is set to be released in the coming months.

The SR Remote team have put together a line up of local artists which will be shot over the coming weeks, all the while taking the precautions necessary due to the current situation. The aim of SR Remote is to inspire and connect with people through intimate music moments and support local talent simultaneously.
