All the Festas Happening in Malta and Gozo This June
St George, Qormi
June marks the start of Malta and Gozo’s festa season, with villages celebrating patron saints through processions, band marches, colourful decorations and spectacular fireworks.
As summer arrives in Malta, festa (feast) season begins in full swing. Throughout June, towns and villages across Malta and Gozo celebrate their patron saints with church services, processions, band marches, street decorations and fireworks displays. These local feasts remain one of the most cherished traditions on the islands, bringing communities together and village squares packed with colour and celebration.
If you’ve already started hearing fireworks, you’re not imagining it. While the main feast days fall throughout June, many localities begin celebrating well in advance, spending weeks preparing for the occasion. By night, you may already notice villages illuminated in their traditional colours, with streets lined with banners and decorations ahead of the festivities. Together, festas across Malta and Gozo will bring weeks of band marches, celebrations and fireworks, culminating with Nadur’s popular L-Imnarja festivities at the end of the month.
