Heritage Malta to take part in EuroMed 2020 Conference next month

Heritage Malta will be taking part in the 8th International Euro-Mediterranean Conference (also known as EuroMed 2020) this year, as a primary collaborator!

EuroMed 2020, which will be held between the 2 and 5 of November is Europe’s largest digital cultural heritage conference.

The conference, which is dedicated to the protection, preservation and e-documentation of cultural heritage will be, for the first time ever, held online.

Heritage Malta project manager for EEA Digitisation, Anthony Cassar, will be the company’s representative at the conference. Policy makers, professionals, students and delegates from over 60 countries will exchange know-how and experiences in cultural heritage research, as well as current and future worldwide developments in the area.

Cassar will be chairing the concluding session of a full-day workshop, where several high-level speakers will be focusing on cultural tourism.

The workshop is being organised by the UNESCO chair on Digital Cultural Heritage with the EU ERA chair on Digital Cultural Heritage, in cooperation with the EU European Digital Library.

Heritage Malta’s digitisation department will be producing a 30-minute introductory video for the workshop, featuring cultural tourism in the 27 EU member states.

“This conference will provide an excellent opportunity for Heritage Malta to gain exposure and promote itself as a leading organisation in digital cultural heritage, particularly when one considers that EuroMed 2020 will be closely followed by top EU officials and industry leaders in this sector,” said Noel Zammit, Heritage Malta CEO.
