Brand new ferry operator to Sicily from Malta

A brand spanking new ferry operator to Sicily has announced that services will begin on 6 Agosto, with its catamaran crossing between Malta and Augusta, on Sicily’s eastern coast.

Ticket sales opened today on the Ponte Ferries website, with one-way trips to Augusta starting from €9.99 for foot passengers and €85 for private cars during the summer months. According to Ponte, the trip will take no more than three hours. The company also added that discount vouchers will be issued to households in Malta and Gozo.

HSC Artmemis, Ponte Ferries’ high-speed vessel, will be operating on a daily basis, with return trips included. The craft is 96 metres long and can take up to 600 passengers. It also features a deck for both cargo trucks and cars.

As for the interior of HSC Artemis, there is a specially designated area for families, where children can be kept entertained in a supervised environment, an area for pet owners, a club class lounge and USB charging connections on every single seat.

“We are delighted to bring much-needed competition to this market in time for the peak holiday season. Our vessel offers great value and has the added advantage of berthing in Augusta, which is just a short drive away from Catania, Syracuse, the shopping outlets and Taormina,” said Ponte Ferries. “Our customers will also benefit from Ponte’s low cost pricing model similar to low cost airlines, which will make travelling to Sicily easy, convenient and affordable,” they said.

Ponte Ferries has also teamed up with ROCS Travel Group through a dedicated GSA agreement to provide customers with package holidays to Sicily. Holiday packages can be found exclusively from Ponte Holidays retail outlets and the online platform, as of 19 Luglio. Make your bookings here!
