Willie Apap's Biggest Exhibition Yet

This exhibition is expected to be the largest ever presentation of Apap works at one exhibition and will be a demonstration of his brilliance and versatility. It will feature oils and inks of portraits, landscapes and still life’s, dancers, human figures, sacred and ethnic works. In total, it will feature 70 pieces of art. Willie Apap (1918–1970), who spent the majority of his adult life living and working in Italy, established himself as one of Malta’s foremost practitioners of the 20th century.

Although his early death undoubtedly restricted his best art to be culminated, this feast of works at the Museum is only the most recent reminder of Willie Apap’s membership in an international milieu that had long outgrown his home country. He had established himself as one of Malta’s leading artists.

Willie Apap: Color and Light will be on display until October 10, 2022. There is no admission fee. The regular hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
