Tonight, Thursday 28 September, the Malta Society of Arts will present a recital performance by Maltese pianist Rachel Gauci, featuring music by Brahms, Janáček and Liszt

This evening’s concert takes place as part of the society’s programme of regular musical performances, spanning a variety of genres including classical, jazz and contemporary. Tonight features Maltese pianist Rachel Gauci, a recent Masters graduate of the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation Scholar.

Rachel Gauci is a Malta Arts Scholarships and Janatha Stubbs Foundation recipient, and has performed extensively both in Malta and abroad, including for the premiere of a silent film in Avignon, France.

Tonight’s programme will present the first of Brahms’ Variations on an Original Theme, two movements from Janáček’s Sonata 1. X. 1905 and two movements from Franz Liszt’s Années de pèlerinage (“Years of Pilgrimage”). Fans of classical music would be well advised to attend this unique performance of works by three established masters of the genre.

Rachel Gauci will perform tonight at the Malta Society of Arts in Valletta. For more information, including how to purchase tickets, visit the event page on Facebook.
