Beloved Restaurant in Marsascala Closes its Doors Once and For All

After 32 years, Marsascala’s Il-Fanal restaurant served its final meals on Sunday. Owner Jesmond Mangion has announced that he is going to take an indefinite sabbatical. Numerous customers posted on social media about their favourite meals from Il-Fanal, sharing childhood memories in response to the announcement. Some regular customers were so taken aback that they cancelled their plans and booked a table at Il-Fanal for one last supper.

Mangion expanded the restaurant a few years ago, exploring the Chinese cuisine with an extensive menu at affordable prices.

The owner has expressed the love he has received throughout these years, claiming that he also matured and grew with the business, starting it when he was just 26. During the first 25 years of the business, Mangion ran the business with his brother-in-law, Charles Cassar, ascertaining that every meal is served with love and precision.
