One of the most well-known and highly acclaimed business television series in the world, Shark Tank, is launching its Maltese version and applications are now open to the public.
Shark Tank Malta is being produced by Greatt Company Limited, in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television and Malta Enterprise. It revolves around entrepreneurs who make business presentations to a panel of investors, or sharks, who decide whether or not they would like to invest in their start-up companies or not. The Sharks will start their search to invest in the best business ideas that the Maltese islands have to offer. The Sharks will be giving people from all walks of life the chance to chase the business dream and secure business deals, that may result in their ideas transforming into viable businesses.
The Sharks have a goal too. They are looking to get a return on their investment and when they hear an idea that they deem worthy, they are more than ready to fight each other for a piece of the pie.
On the American show, which first premiered on ABC in 2009, the main long-standing sharks are Kevin O’Leary and Robert Herjavec. In the 12th season, the main sharks included Barbara Corcoran, Daymond John, Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner, alongside Kevin and Robert. On the Maltese version, the Sharks have not been announced, but the company have promised that they will be successful Maltese businessmen and women.
