Clark Tracey, son of jazz pianist Stan Tracey OBE, CBE, returns to Malta this week for two highly-anticipated performances at Offbeat music bar in Valletta. A longstanding fixture on the British and international jazz scene, Clark Tracey has recorded over 100 albums, and performed in over 50 countries throughout his career.
He has been awarded “Best Drums” in the British Jazz Awards a staggering six times — most recently in 2018 — and in 2007 won “Best Drums” at the iconic Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in London. In addition to his many concert performances both at home and abroad, he has also featured in numerous television programmes and films, most notably including the Mercury Music Awards (BBC) with Sting, The Talented Mr Ripley starring Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jude Law, and on the soundtrack for the 2004 film Alfie. He is endorsed by Bosphorus Cymbals, Vic Firth Sticks, Remo Drumheads and Cambridge Drums.
The first performance entitled “Love Songs” takes place tonight, 19th May, at 9pm, when Tracey is joined by singer Angela Vella Zarb, pianist Joe Debono and bassist Oliver Degabriele. The second performance, “Legacy”, takes place tomorrow, 20th May, at the same time, featuring pianist Dominic Galea and welcoming back Oliver Degabriele.
Don’t miss this opportunity to witness two stunning performances from one of the jazz world’s most renowned and enduring figures, alongside some of Malta’s most well-known and active local talents.
