From Ukraine to Syria, a Photographic Exhibition covering the Civilian Perspective of Ongoing and Recent Wars by international photojournalists Darrin Zammit Lupi and Heidi Levine. Exhibition is open until the 23 July 2022 from Monday to Friday  between 9am till 12pm and 6pm till 8pm and Saturday and Sunday from 6pm till 8pm

Darrin Zammit Lupi and Heidi Levine give us a timeless portrayal of human suffering as they capture the pain and anguish of a people who are forced into war. They make us look at this phenomenon and see what we do not want to believe. Zammit Lupi visited the polish borders to photograph refugees in transit as they flee from their country whilst Levine, currently on assignment in Ukraine for the Washington Post, has been living war in Ukraine capturing human stories of a nation impacted by the war. Both photographers have deeply captured the strength of Ukrainians in the face of suffering.

This year Malta Enterprise directs its corporate social responsibility to highlight the humanity in wars and make us reflect on the disruptions to the development of the social and economic fabric of nations. Malta Enterprise is highly committed to create events that can help make a change, which can contribute actively to drive further the development and wellbeing of society at large.

The exhibition presents us with striking images covering six wars. From the current wars in Ukraine and Syria to the ongoing flare ups in Libya, Palestine and Israel to the recent wars in Bosnia and Kosovo. As they document the impact of war on civilian life, these images become testimony to the great acts of bravery and resilience that come to light during war.
