The National Women’s Soccer League, or NWSL, is the primary competition for women’s teams in the US. With a number of well-known athletes participating, it is regarded as one of the strongest leagues in women’s sports. The United States women’s team has won four world championships and four gold medals at the Olympics. Bugeja was on Sassuolo’s Serie A team for a couple of seasons, scoring a total of 12 goals, dominating the women’s division.
