WATCH: Children’s Maltese Book ‘Denfil’ Is Returning As A Cartoon Series
Id-Denfil, the Maltese school book series that accompanied every child to primary school in the early 00s, is making a triumphant comeback as an animated cartoon series. While some might be upset that the book is no longer in print, the new animated series, created by Turi Animation Studio, is an effort to honour the much-loved book. The new cartoon series also aims to educate and entertain young children.
The cartoon, created by turi animation Studio, employs a 2D hand-drawn style and will also have animated Maltese subtitles that will change colour in response to the spoken words. The cartoon series is the culmination of more than a year’s worth of hard work. The team is quite small, with only five devoted individuals working on animation, composing music, and production management.
Turi Animation Studio has received funding from the Arts Council of Malta and private investment. You can watch the trailer below;
As a result of the evergrowing need of subtitles, the team made sure that all episodes of id-Denfil will include animated subtitles that will flash when the voice in the cartoon episode is heard.
The first episodes of Id-Denfil will air on ONE TV in October.
