EnKor will be kicking off the Christmas season with a special anniversary concert, showcasing their best Christmas arrangements, joining forces with some special guests and other surprises on the 10 December at ĊAK Conference Hall

EnKor, a versatile group with gospel roots, fresh tunes, and buckets of team spirit, is made up of enthusiastic and talented singers and musicians that aim to share their love for music, harmonies and arrangements with a twist, at every opportunity.

The name ‘EnKor’ is a sweet combination of the word ‘Encore’, which is a repeated or additional performance at the end of a concert, as well as the word ‘Kor’, choir in Maltese.

The choir started out with classical and gospel pieces, but eventually expanded the repertoire and now even enjoy singing different genres of music. Musicals, ballads and pop numbers enriched EnKor’s collection of songs and the first ever concert was held in April 2003 at the St Paul’s Anglican Cathedral. Over the years, the choir has evolved to a voluntary organisation led by a committee of volunteers and is under the leadership of the Musical Director Ms Sarah Salafia.

Quality continues to be a priority for the choir and performing has never been about singing a few notes, but it is about transmitting the very essence of music to the audience. This led to a myriad of varied requests for EnKor to perform at some very distinguished events over the years, such as Notte Bianca, Christmas Eve masses at the President’s Palace, private functions at Embassies, local and international choir festivals, and several private functions such as weddings.

Of all the performances and different seasons of the year, Christmas is a special time for the choir members. EnKor has produced several Christmas concerts and the repertoire and arrangements are truly a balm to the soul. Hence, it was a very easy decision to combine Christmas time with celebrating the 20th anniversary of EnKor.
