On Domenica 16 Aprile, during Mġarr’s annual Festa Frawli,  two prehistoric gems located in Mġarr – Ta’ Ħaġrat and Skorba, will be open to the public at a reduced price

Ta’ Ħaġrat was first excavated between 1923 and 1926 and includes two well-preserved structures dating back to the 4th millenium BC. The older structure has a monumental doorway that leads into a rectangular space with a raised stone kerb. 

During this event, Ta’ Ħaġrat will be open from 9:00am, with the last entries at 5:30pm. Guided tours will take place every hour, starting at 9:30am with the last tour at 14:30pm. Tours will be in Maltese and English alternately, starting in Maltese.

Skorba, on the other hand, was excavated in the early 1960s. This excavation provided crucial evidence concerning the domestic aspect of the Neolithic inhabitants since the remains of several domestic huts were discovered here.

During this event, Skorba will also be open from 9:00am till 5:30pm. Here visitors can explore the site on their own.

Tickets: Adults pay €3, Senior and student passport holders, and Heritage Malta members enter for free.

The fee includes admission to both sites, and tour at Ta’ Ħaġrat (taking place hourly between 09:30-14:30, alternating in Maltese and English).  Tickets are available only at the door on a first come first served basis.
