The Biggest Music Events Happening in Malta This Week
Malta’s summer heatwave is in full swing, but so is the island’s music scene. From international pop icons and world-famous DJs to swing classics and orchestral performances, there is no shortage of evening entertainment to enjoy once the sun goes down.
Whether you’re looking for a massive open-air concert, a lively festival atmosphere or something a little more refined, these are the music events lighting up Malta this week.
21 & 24 July: Għaxaq Music Festival 2026
The village of Għaxaq is turning up the volume with its annual music festival, featuring a mix of Italian pop, electronic beats and local talent.
Italian pop legends Ricchi e Poveri take the stage on 21 July , alongside Kevin Paul & The Band and DJs Pierre Cordina and Alex Grech.
On 24 July, Portuguese DJ Padre Guilherme will headline an electronic music night, supported by UK melodic house duo POU (Product of Us), together with Maltese DJs JJoy, Mux and Braynord.
The festival is free to attend, with VIP and limited seated options available.
22 July: Isle of MTV Malta 2026
The biggest name on Malta’s summer music calendar returns this week as Katy Perry headlines this year’s Isle of MTV Malta at The Granaries in Floriana on 22 July.
The global pop superstar will be joined by Dutch DJ Afrojack and Maltese singer Aidan Cassar for a night of chart-topping hits and festival energy.
General admission is free, but registration is required via the official Isle of MTV website. VIP tickets are also available.
The concert forms part of Malta Music Week, which continues with the Isle of MTV Pool Party on July 26, featuring British rapper Dizzee Rascal among other acts.
24 July: 105 Summer Festival Malta 2026
Italian music fans are in for a treat as Radio 105’s Summer Festival arrives at The Granaries in Floriana on 24 July.
The star-studded line-up features some of Italy’s biggest names, including Fedez, Gigi D’Alessio, Elettra Lamborghini, Baby K, The Kolors and many more.
Expect a high-energy evening of Italian pop, rap and dance music under the Floriana night sky.

24 July: The Swing Era

For something with a touch of old-school glamour, head to Pjazza Teatru Rjal in Valletta on 24 July for an evening dedicated to the golden age of swing.
The Big Band of the Malta Concert Orchestra, under the direction of Alex Bezzina, will perform timeless swing favourites, joined by guest artists Angie Vella Zarb, Nadine Axisa, George Curmi ‘Il-Pusé’ and Paul Abela.
Adding to the atmosphere, dancers from Swing Island Malta will bring the spirit of the swing era to life.

25 July: An Evening with de Falla

For a more elegant way to spend a summer evening, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra presents An Evening with de Falla at Hilton Malta in St Julian’s on 25 July.
Conducted by Pablo González, the concert celebrates the works of Spanish composer Manuel de Falla, including the much-loved Nights in the Gardens of Spain and The Three-Cornered Hat suites.
A perfect choice for those looking to swap festival crowds for a night of world-class classical music.
