Oh My Malta Magazine August Issue Now Available to Read Online

In the first week of July, the earth smashed records for the hottest days ever recorded. The island is know for its warm climate with its surplus of heat and sun, and the current heatwave is seeing temperatures soaring above 40 Celsius. Heat alone can be exhausting especially if you come from a very different climate and didn’t have time to adapt, or a Maltese friend to show you the ropes.

But keep calm, there’s nothing really to worry about if you are prepared and know a few tricks.

Start your sightseeing as early in the morning as you can to avoid getting baked in the sun or sweating in long queues.

As the day progresses, have a break by indulging in some local cuisine at one of the many air-conditioned eateries or a midday siesta rest back at your hotel, or rather, make your way to one of Malta or Gozo’s picturesque beaches for a refreshing dip in the clear waters.

Don’t forget to wear sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat as big as you can find. Be sure you are hydrating before, during and after exposing yourself to these soaring summer temperatures. Stay safe and take it easy!

We couldn’t be happier to welcome you home!
