The music icon was scheduled to perform at the Ta’ Qali Concert Area on 18 August, marking his first-ever performance in Malta. However, organisers have informed ticket holders that the concert will be moved to a new date next year, with the exact date set to be announced on 31 October.

In an email sent to fans on Monday, organisers explained that the postponement was due to “unforeseen circumstances beyond our control”.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and understanding,” the message read.

The good news for fans is that tickets will remain valid. Those who decide not to request a refund will automatically have their tickets transferred to the rescheduled 2027 date once it is confirmed, meaning there is no need to panic and start searching for a way to relive All Night Long elsewhere just yet.

Richie, whose decades-spanning career has produced some of pop’s most recognisable anthems including Hello, Dancing on the Ceiling and Endless Love, was set to bring his catalogue of classics to Maltese shores for the first time.

Organisers apologised for the delay and thanked fans for their continued support, promising further updates once more details are available.

While the wait may be longer than expected, Maltese fans can keep the date open for a future night of timeless hits, big singalongs and, hopefully, plenty of dancing on the ceiling.
