Maltese Singer Chess Galea Lands Leading Role in New Michael Jackson World Tour

Maltese singer Chess Galea has landed a leading role in Can You Feel It, a new Michael Jackson world tour from the producers of Thriller Live. The Malta-born performer continues her international rise after touring globally and releasing her own music.

Malta has always punched above its weight when it comes to talent, and Chess Galea is the latest name carrying the island’s voice far beyond its shores. The Swieqi-born singer and performer has landed a leading role in Can You Feel It, a spectacular new world tour celebrating the music of Michael Jackson, marking the next chapter in a career that has already taken her from Malta to stages across the globe.

Produced by the team behind the internationally acclaimed Thriller Live, Can You Feel It will open in China before travelling internationally, with further destinations set to be revealed as they are officially announced.

For Galea, this is another major milestone in a journey that began on the island. She released her first single in Malta at just 18 years old in 2010, with the track reaching number one locally. Around the same time, she made the bold move to the UK to pursue a career in music, at a time when opportunities for full-time performers in Malta were still limited.

The decision set her on a path that has taken her around the world.

Before joining Can You Feel It, Galea toured internationally with The Australian Pink Floyd Show, including two tours across the United States, performing for audiences far beyond Malta’s shores. She has also held her own original sold-out shows in New York and the UK.

Her credits also include writing and providing vocals for Nintendo’s acclaimed video game Bayonetta 3, while earlier this year she competed in Malta’s Eurovision selection with her original song Shout It Out.

Now, Galea is stepping into the world of theatre, a move she has long been working towards.

Taking on a role in Can You Feel It allows her to perform some of the most iconic pop songs ever created while further developing her skills as a live performer. The production also brings her one step closer to another major ambition: the West End in London.

With auditions already underway for some of the biggest musical productions, Galea’s theatre journey is only beginning.

But while international stages continue to call, she remains committed to her own music. Alongside this latest achievement, she has released a new original single and music video, which has also received international recognition, earning a nomination at the WRPN Women’s International Film Festival.

From Malta to the world stage, Chess Galea’s journey is one to watch. We wish her every success with Can You Feel It and the exciting opportunities still to come.
