Kersten Graham Spreads the feel-good factor with New Banger 'Funk Me Up'

Kersten Graham hits Malta with his third single this year, ‘Funk Me Up’.

The upbeat song was released on World Mental Health Day, in hopes of spreading positivity and providing that good feel factor in a song.

This funky track with a disco backbeat is mixed with bluesy and rock licks, which are featured throughout. The track is written by the singer himself and co-produced with Matthew James, who he has previously worked with on the track, Għaliex Jien? and Moonlight River and For You.

Kersten Graham told Oh My Malta, ‘I remember the first demo I cut was called ‘Funk’ initially, and it was shortly after Matthew James released the track ‘Wrong Reasons’. One day, shortly after having worked with him on the Maltese track, Għaliex Jien? (alongside my other bestfriend, JPx), Matthew he called me up to tell me that since we have achieved a high level product, I needed to step up my game now. I remember taking the sampled beat and the synth from the first demo and reworked everything around them in a new session, for about three hours, and that’s when Funk Me Up, was born. This is by far the most energetic, groovy, and positive song I’ve written and I’m definitely  digging this style of writing.’

The music video was filmed at Theatre Next Door, featuring Kayley and Jade from Dope Dance Company, Thomas Cauchi on the trumpets and Matthew Gellel as the lighting engineer.
